FAQ & Support

Shipping & Fulfillment

How long will it take for my order to ship?

As a small-batch studio, our processing times depend on the specific item and our current production queue:

  • Ready-to-Ship Gear: Items currently in stock typically ship within 1–3 business days.

  • Made-to-Order Items: Products that are crafted specifically for your order generally ship within 3–5 business days.

  • Special Projects: In rare circumstances or during high-volume periods, some complex designs may require additional time to ensure they meet our quality standards.

Where do you ship from?

All Materium Design products are designed, manufactured, and shipped directly from our studio in Kentucky, USA.

Can I change my shipping address?

If you need to update your shipping information, please contact us at support@materiumdesign.com within 2 hours of placing your order. Once an order has been processed for shipping, we are unable to change the destination.

Product Quality & Materials

Why does my part have visible lines on the surface?

Materium Design uses professional-grade additive manufacturing (3D printing) to create our products. Unlike mass-produced injection-molded plastic, 3D-printed parts have visible layer lines and unique surface characteristics. This is a signature of the manufacturing process and does not affect the structural integrity or performance of your gear.

What materials do you use for Car Accessories?

We use high-performance materials engineered to survive the harsh environment of a vehicle interior:

  • ASA & ASA-CF: These materials are highly UV-resistant and have a high heat-deflection temperature, meaning they won't warp or fade in the summer sun.
  • TPU: A rubber-like, flexible material used for parts that need impact resistance, grip, or a non-marring surface.
  • Specific material info can be found on each product page.

What is "CF-Infused" (Carbon Fiber) material?

For many of our automotive and EDC parts, we use Carbon Fiber infused filaments (ASA-CF). This isn't just for looks—the carbon fiber reinforcement increases the stiffness and dimensional stability of the part while providing a premium, matte-textured finish that hides layer lines better than standard plastics.

What materials are used for EDC and Workspace gear?

Because workspace gear isn't subjected to the same heat as a car interior, we use a wider variety of materials selected for their specific aesthetic or tactile feel—ranging from high-detail resins to tough engineering plastics. Specific material details are always listed on the individual product page.

How should I care for my 3D-printed parts?

Most of our ASA and TPU parts can be cleaned with mild soap and water. Avoid using harsh chemical solvents (like acetone) on ASA parts, as they will damage the surface finish.

Fitment & Compatibility

Will this fit my specific vehicle?

We put significant effort into engineering precise fitment for every model listed (e.g., Mazda 3). Please review the product description carefully for year/trim compatibility. If you are unsure, feel free to contact the studio before purchasing; we’re happy to help you verify fitment.

Do you take custom requests?

We are always looking to expand our catalog. If you have a specific vehicle or EDC accessory you'd like to see us support, please reach out! While we don't always take one-off custom commissions, your feedback directly influences our product roadmap.

Returns & Warranty

What is your return policy?

Because our products are made-to-order, we do not accept returns for change of mind or "trial-and-error" fitment testing. All sales are final.

What if my item arrives damaged or is defective?

We stand behind our engineering. If your item arrives broken or has a manufacturing defect, please contact us at support@materiumdesign.com within 14 days of delivery with photos of the issue. We will provide a replacement or a full refund at no cost to you.

Safety & Installation

How should I install my automotive parts?

Most Materium Design parts are designed for a "press-fit" or use automotive-grade 3D VHB tape. We recommend cleaning the mounting surface with isopropyl alcohol before installation to ensure a secure bond.

Disclaimer: Materium Design is not responsible for damage to vehicles or personal property resulting from improper installation or misuse of our products.

Sustainability & Ethics

How are these made?

Every part is designed and manufactured in-house in our Kentucky studio. We utilize low-waste additive manufacturing processes (FDM 3D Printing), meaning we only use the material required for your specific part, significantly reducing industrial scrap compared to traditional manufacturing.

Is your packaging eco-friendly?

We strive to use recyclable or compostable packaging materials whenever possible to minimize our environmental footprint.
